Glimpses of Anna May Wong in Australia: How Much Has Really Changed?
Still carrying the echoes of last Sunday’s event, a powerful tribute to Anna May Wong. One of the highlights was when Fiona Choi shared how Anna May’s courage and complexity lit the path for her own journey as an actor. Her performance of “What a Little Girl Sees” — drawn from her musical play currently in development — offered an honest, personal perspective on legacy, sacrifice, and visibility.
It’s a reminder that legacy isn’t just what we leave behind, but what we pass forward — and that storytelling still has so much ground to claim.
Thank you Fiona and Peter, our sponsors Melbourne Chinatown Business Association, volunteers and Claudia and Gloria de Foe for the video.
