Troy Kwon

Troy Kwon Byeongheon is a Korean-born actor and emerging filmmaker based in Melbourne. His work explores loneliness, desire, identity, and the quiet violence of isolation through intimate, character-driven stories rooted in lived experience. Shaped by years of watching soap operas with his grandmother from the age of five, Troy gravitates toward heightened, twist-driven drama and emotional turns that linger rather than resolve.

With a background in acting, theatre, and self-produced short films, he often centres queer Asian characters navigating displacement, intimacy, and self-worth in the West. Troy approaches filmmaking as an act of excavation—embracing mess, contradiction, and emotional excess as a way to sit with discomfort and search for connection.
